Drill rods compatible with the Ditch Witch JT2020
The JT2020 is one of the most common models in the Ditch Witch mid class. It runs a 60 mm outside diameter rod with a 7,5 mm wall and a 66,7 mm tool joint. Dimensionally it sits very close to the Vermeer D24×40 class, but wall thickness and thread form differ; rods from the two brands are not interchangeable.

Figures are taken from the master drill rod tables. Measuring the tool joint diameter of your existing rod with callipers is a surer check than the model code alone.
Why these figures matter
A 3 m rod length and 35 kg weight keep this class handleable by one person and workable on tight sites. The 33 m bend radius gives enough flexibility for urban crossings.
STETON rigs in the same torque class
The 6.300 Nm torque class corresponds to the range these STETON rigs work in. If you are evaluating a new machine, this is the starting point for comparison.
Tooling that runs with the rods
About Ditch Witch JT2020 drill rods.
Will a JT2020 rod fit a Vermeer D24×40?
No. Although the body diameters are close (60 mm / 60,3 mm), wall thickness and thread form differ. A crossover sub is used to bridge the two brands; tell us your rig and rod thread and we will identify the right one.
Do the JT2020M1 and JT2020 use the same rod?
The catalogue figure is for the JT2020M1. Confirm whether your machine is an M1; non-M1 series may use a different tool joint diameter.
How do I spot a worn rod?
Galling at the thread, lost thread pitch and a permanent bend in the body are the three basic signs. A bent rod will not hold direction in the bore and risks breaking; take it out of the set.
