STETON ST3800 Horizontal Directional Drilling Rig
The ST3800 is the largest rig in the range: 3800 kN of thrust and pullback, 138,000 Nm of rotary torque and crossings reaching 2000 metres. It installs pipe up to Ø2000 mm, the class of work that covers marine outfalls, strait crossings and large-diameter transmission mains where open-cut is not an option. A 9,600 mm rod length and Ø168 mm rod diameter reduce both the connection count and the torsional risk of the string over a 2000-metre line. At 68 tonnes and 18,800 mm long, the rig needs a project-specific transport and site set-up plan.

Which projects is the ST3800 for?
A maxi class for river and strait crossings, marine outfalls and large-diameter transmission mains. It works on single crossings approaching a kilometre and on pipe diameters beyond what the mid classes can carry. Site footprint, transport and crew planning are set per project; the rig is supplied to order.
Share your pipe diameter, crossing length and soil class; we will confirm over the phone whether the ST3800 is enough for the job, or whether the class above or below fits better. Rig selection guide →

About the STETON ST3800.
How much pullback does the STETON ST3800 have?
Push/pull force is 380 tonnes. As pipe diameter and crossing length grow, the rig is chosen with a margin above this figure.
Which projects suit the STETON ST3800?

Which rods and bits work with the ST3800?
Rods matched to the rig thread standard, a directional bit or rock bit chosen for the soil class, a sonde housing, reamers and a swivel. All of it ships from Boremak stock; share your soil survey and we will specify the tool set together.
How much does the STETON ST3800 cost?
The price depends on the rod package, initial tooling set, locating system and delivery terms. Call us for a firm quotation on the ST3800.
