STETON ST2200 Horizontal Directional Drilling Rig
The ST2200 is a 2200 kN maxi rig driven by twin diesel engines. Its 85,000 Nm of torque and 1500-metre maximum crossing length are built for long river and strait crossings completed in a single pull. The two-engine power pack exists so the rig can absorb the friction torque of a long rod string while still feeding the mud pump at full flow, which single-engine rigs cannot do simultaneously. It runs Ø127 mm rods in 6,000 mm lengths.

Which projects is the ST2200 for?
A maxi class for river and strait crossings, marine outfalls and large-diameter transmission mains. It works on single crossings approaching a kilometre and on pipe diameters beyond what the mid classes can carry. Site footprint, transport and crew planning are set per project; the rig is supplied to order.
Share your pipe diameter, crossing length and soil class; we will confirm over the phone whether the ST2200 is enough for the job, or whether the class above or below fits better. Rig selection guide →

About the STETON ST2200.
How much pullback does the STETON ST2200 have?
Push/pull force is 220 tonnes. As pipe diameter and crossing length grow, the rig is chosen with a margin above this figure.
Which projects suit the STETON ST2200?
A maxi class for river and strait crossings, marine outfalls and large-diameter transmission mains. It works on single crossings approaching a kilometre and on pipe diameters beyond what the mid classes can carry. Site footprint, transport and crew planning are set per project; the rig is supplied to order.
Which rods and bits work with the ST2200?
Rods matched to the rig thread standard, a directional bit or rock bit chosen for the soil class, a sonde housing, reamers and a swivel. All of it ships from Boremak stock; share your soil survey and we will specify the tool set together.
How much does the STETON ST2200 cost?
The price depends on the rod package, initial tooling set, locating system and delivery terms. Call us for a firm quotation on the ST2200.
